That's what I call a tough transition. From sleeping in a quiet tatami room in a temple in the mountains to inserting myself in a capsule hotel in Tokyo's Shinjuku. I went almost directly from the temple in Fukui to Tokyo, with only a brief stop for a couple hours in Kyoto. As I was going to Tokyo primarily to train at the Aikido Hombu dojo - which is in Shinjuku - I ended up spending most of my time in the most manic part of one of the most manic cities in the world. And, as I said, I was sleeping in a capsule. |
