Dudes hit the beach
Ethan told me, “Dad, if we’re going to hit the beach, we’re going to need some sweet wheels…” Darn it, the kid’s right. Due to state regulations for public beaches, we were limited in our choices; we ended up deciding on his stroller, though I was satisfied when I strapped him into the five point harness that it was a performance model.
Once Ethan was buckled in, I was ready to take him cruising…though the ever-prudent Ethan opted for a parasol and a canopy instead of the more traditional muscle shirt. Times have changed, and the little man knows it.
Hangin’ by the pool
The lifestyle down here seems to fit Ethan just fine…afternoon happy hour, long stroll(er)s on the beach, and – of course – chillin’ by the pool with his peeps. Okay, so maybe he doesn’t seem quite so cool if his ‘peeps’ are his mummy and daddy, but he’s working on branching out.
The little dude has been getting used to swimming in the pool, though at this stage, ’swimming’ tends to mean something more akin to ‘aquatic hugs.’ Not a whole lot of kicking or thrashing going on; Ethan’s version of water sports is more focused on clinging to the nearest parent.

Peek-a-boo!
Ethan’s new favourite game, but with a twist…instead of the old hands-over-the-face version of the game, Ethan prefers to launch himself from behind furniture whenever I start calling out “Where’s Ethan?” The best part of the game is that as he erupts from behind his chosen hiding place, he’s always wearing this expression…
